Stanley Correctional Institution requires you to schedule in-person (contact) visits through ICSolutions. Don't make the trip unless you're already on the visiting schedule and approved. If you're not on the schedule, you won't be allowed to visit.

Book your in-person (contact) visit through the ICSolutions scheduling system before you go. This isn't something you can sort out after you arrive. If you're not on the schedule, you'll be turned away.

Stanley CI's in-person visiting hours are split into specific time blocks. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, visits run from 2:30 pm to 5:15 pm and again from 5:45 pm to 8:30 pm. On Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, the windows are 8:00 am to 10:00 am, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

  • Plan for the visit limits: only one visit per day, and only one in-person visit per weekend. If a holiday is attached to a weekend, it counts as part of that weekend.
  • Watch the admission cutoff: you will not be admitted within 30 minutes of the scheduled visit end time.
  • Avoid closed-lobby windows: the visiting lobby is closed on weekdays from 4:15 pm to 5:00 pm, and on weekends and holidays from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.

Aim to arrive close to the start of visiting hours. Wisconsin DOC guidance says no more than 15 minutes before visiting begins. Once you're in the lobby, you may need to fill out a DOC-176 (Request to Visit Offender) before you can proceed.

Heads up: Staff may stamp your hand, and that stamp gets checked as you enter and leave secure areas. You'll also need to clear the metal detector. If you can't clear it within three attempts, you'll be denied entry to the visiting room.

Bring photo ID. At Stanley CI, every visitor age 16 or older must present photo identification at arrival. Not sure if your ID qualifies? Check Wisconsin DOC's acceptable ID guidance before you go.

Dos Donts

  • Do not show up without being on the DOC-approved schedule. If you are not scheduled, you will not be allowed to visit.
  • Do not arrive too late. If you are within 30 minutes of the scheduled visit end time, you will not be admitted.
  • Do not try to book around the limit rules. Stanley CI allows only one visit per day and only one in-person visit per weekend (with attached holidays treated as part of the weekend).
