On-Site vs. Off-Site Visits at Stark County Jail: What’s the Difference?
Stark County Jail offers two ways to video visit: on-site (at the jail) and off-site (from home). The key differences come down to available hours and how the weekly visit limit applies.
On-site video visits happen at the jail during set hours: Tuesday through Friday (excluding holidays), 8:00am–11:00am and 12:00pm–4:00pm. Off-site visits are remote - you connect from home or anywhere with internet. The remote window is broader: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm.
Note: Off-site visits run Monday through Friday, 8:00am–8:00pm - a much wider window than on-site hours.
Here's where it matters: the weekly limit only applies to on-site visits. Each inmate gets one 30-minute on-site visit per week, with a maximum of two visitors total (including children). Planning to bring a child? That counts toward the two-person cap, so plan accordingly.
Good to know: Off-site visits don't count toward the weekly on-site limit. You can do both without one affecting the other.

- ✓ On-site video visits: Tuesday–Friday (excluding holidays), 8:00am–11:00am and 12:00pm–4:00pm
- ✓ Off-site (remote) video visits: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–8:00pm
- Decide if you need the on-site visit this week - each inmate gets one 30-minute on-site visit per week, with up to two visitors (including minors).
- Use off-site visits for extra connection - off-site visits don’t count toward the one permitted on-site visit, so you can keep the on-site slot available.
- Match your schedule to the on-site windows - on-site hours are Tuesday–Friday (excluding holidays), 8:00am–11:00am and 12:00pm–4:00pm.
- If you need a bigger time window, choose off-site - remote visits are available Monday–Friday from 8:00am until 8:00pm.
Reminder: Scheduling off-site visits won't use up the inmate's one permitted on-site visit for the week.
