How to Leave Messages for an Inmate at NWRCC Using Securus Messaging (PMI)

Can't reach your loved one live? NWRCC uses Securus Messaging with a Private Mailbox ID (PMI), which lets you leave a message they can pick up through the phone system. Here's how the PMI works and how to get it set up.

A PMI (Private Mailbox ID) is a code you and the inmate choose during Securus Messaging Account Activation. It connects your messages to the right mailbox. When you can't connect live, you leave a message, and the inmate listens to whatever is tied to that PMI.

To leave a message for an inmate at NWRCC, call Securus Technologies' Messaging Account Activation line at (800) 844-6591. Follow the prompts to activate messaging and select your Private Mailbox ID (PMI). Once your PMI is set up, you can leave messages through the system instead of trying to get staff to pass one along.

  1. Call (800) 844-6591. This is the Securus Technologies number used for messaging activation for NWRCC.
  2. Use the Messaging Account Activation option. Follow the phone prompts to set up messaging.
  3. Choose your Private Mailbox ID (PMI). This is the ID you and the inmate will use for leaving and listening to messages.
  4. Finish activation and save the details. Keep your PMI handy so you can leave messages and the inmate can access them through the system.

NWRCC correctional staff will not take non-emergency messages for inmates. The only way to leave a message is through the Securus Messaging activation process. Also worth knowing: NW Regional Corrections Center reserves the right to monitor and record inmate phone calls. All non-attorney calls will be recorded and monitored. Attorney calls are the exception.
