How to Leave Messages for Someone at NWRCC Using Securus Messaging
Need to leave a recorded message for someone at NW Regional Corrections Center (NWRCC)? You'll use Securus—staff won't take regular messages for inmates.
Securus messaging works well when you can't connect in real time but still want to get a recorded message through. To set it up, call Securus Technologies' Messaging Account Activation line at (800) 844-6591.
During activation, you and the inmate will choose a Private Mailbox ID (PMI) - a shared number that connects your messages to the right mailbox. Think of it like a PIN that only the two of you know.
- Call the activation line - Dial Securus Technologies’ Messaging Account Activation line at (800) 844-6591.
- Complete account activation - Follow the phone prompts to set up your messaging access.
- Choose your PMI together - When activating messaging, you and the inmate must choose a Private Mailbox ID (PMI) number that only you will know.
Note: Keep your PMI private. If others know it, your mailbox won't stay private - and mix-ups become more likely.
Don't expect to pass along a quick note through the front desk. Correctional staff won't take non-emergency messages for inmates - Securus is the way to go.
One more thing: NWRCC monitors and records all inmate phone calls except those with attorneys. Assume your conversations aren't private.
Practical Tips Pmi
- ✓ Pick a PMI that only you and the inmate know.
- ✓ Assume messaging on inmate tablets can be monitored and recorded.
- ✓ If tablet access is suspended for misuse, messaging access may be affected.
The facility also monitors tablet activity, including messaging, and can suspend access for misuse. If your loved one uses a tablet to message you, that access isn't guaranteed - it can be revoked.
