What You Can Drop Off and How to Pick Up an Inmate's Property at Trumbull County Jail

Need to drop off prescription glasses? Bring them to the Front Desk or Central Control (the window with the phone). Include the inmate's name and attach the prescription - glasses won't be accepted without it. Reading glasses aren't allowed, so only bring prescription eyewear that matches the paperwork.

Court clothing is only accepted for jury trials. If your loved one has a jury trial coming up and needs something to wear, you can drop it off. Regular clothes for day-to-day use? That's not covered here - this policy is strictly for court appearances tied to jury trials.

Books have strict limits. Inmates can have two books per stay, and they must be softback. You can't drop them off directly - they need to be sent through the bookstore.

Here's the key thing about picking up belongings: Trumbull County Jail only releases property from the inmate's clear bag. Items in that bag are treated as valuables. If it's not in the clear bag, it's not part of the property release process.

The inmate has to start the property release - staff won't deliver messages asking them to prepare one. Your loved one needs to request a Property Release form from inside. If you're waiting on property, make sure they know the request has to come from them.

Property pick-up is available seven days a week during two windows: 8:00 am–11:00 am and 6:00 pm–10:00 pm.
