What to Bring to Your First Visit at Victorville: IDs, Forms, and Allowed Items

You'll need a valid, government-issued photo ID to enter the visiting room at USP Victorville. A driver's license, military ID, or passport all work. Staff check it at the front desk to verify your identity.

Warning: Non-government IDs won’t be accepted, and foreign IDs only work if they’re a passport (for example, consulate-issued ID cards are not accepted).

Expect paperwork when you arrive. Every visitor reads and signs form BP-A0224 (Notification to Visitor) during check-in.

You'll also sign the visitor log book at check-in. Not sure about the facility's visiting rules? Ask the person you're visiting - the facility expects inmates to share visiting instructions, guidelines, and policies with their guests ahead of time.

What to Bring to Your First Visit at Victorville: IDs, Forms, and Allowed Items

Allowed Personal Items Visitors

  • One small clear plastic container/bag, no larger than 8" x 12"
  • Up to $20 in coins for the vending machines
  • Essential medication (for example, an asthma inhaler or nitroglycerine), limited to the amount needed during the visit

Allowed Personal Items Inmates

  • Wedding band
  • White handkerchief
  • Religious medal or headgear
  • Prescription eyeglasses (no case)
  • Essential medication (as allowed), which is maintained by the Visiting Room Officer during the visit

Expect screening on your way in. Staff may search your belongings and use electronic drug detection devices. More intrusive screening - like a breathalyzer, urinalysis, or pat search - can happen, but only with approval from the Warden or their designee.

Bringing essential medication? Keep it to what you'll need during the visit - think asthma inhaler or nitroglycerine. Staff in the visiting room hold onto it for you, but the Visiting Room Officer won't dispense it. Plan your timing and dosage before you arrive.
