How to Sign Up and When to Visit at Utah State Correctional Facility (USCF)
Planning a visit to USCF is straightforward once you understand the weekly schedule, the one-slot-per-day rule, and how far in advance you need to book—especially for video visits.
USCF runs on a simple weekly split. Video visits happen Monday through Thursday; in-person visits are Friday through Sunday. First, decide which type of visit you want. Then pick a day that matches.
Here's the key rule: you can only sign up for one time slot per visiting day. Book multiple slots on the same day, and all of them get denied. Don't try to grab a "backup" slot - it'll wipe out every reservation you made for that day. If you're unsure which time works best, decide before you book.
For video visits, the Department requires 48 hours advanced notice. You can't decide today and visit tomorrow - build in at least two days. After you sign up, give the system time to process. Verification emails can take up to two business days (not including holidays) to arrive. Submitting additional sign-ups while you wait can accidentally trigger denials, so schedule carefully the first time and be patient.
Arrival Time Rules
- ✓ Video visit: arrive 15 minutes early.
- ✓ In-person visit: arrive 30 minutes early.
Plan to arrive early. For video visits, get there 15 minutes ahead so you don't miss the start. For in-person visits, 30 minutes early gives you enough time to check in and be ready when your slot begins.
If your plans change after you've signed up, don't try to "fix it" by booking a second slot on the same day. Remember: USCF only allows one time slot per visiting day, and multiple sign-ups will get all of them denied. Keep the timing in mind, too. Verification emails can take up to two business days (not including holidays). If you sign up again while still waiting, you risk creating duplicate requests. Give the system time before trying anything else.
- Do not book a second slot on the same day - multiple sign-ups for the same visiting day will result in all sign-ups being denied.
- Pick the single time you can truly make - commit to one slot for that visiting day so you don’t lose the visit entirely.
- If you already submitted more than one request, stop and wait - submitting more requests won’t help, and it can increase the chance all sign-ups for that day are denied.
