Before You Mail That Letter to Victoria County Jail: Addressing & Content Rules
Get the address wrong or include the wrong extras, and Victoria County Jail will reject your letter. Follow these rules to make sure your mail gets through.
On the envelope, write the person's full name and their CR number. Mail it to Victoria County Jail at 101 N Glass Street, Victoria, Texas 77901.
Write both addresses clearly - mailing and return - on the same side of the envelope. If staff can't read them quickly, your letter may get held up or rejected during screening.
Don’t skip the return address: Letters with no return address aren’t acceptable and may be rejected.
Keep the envelope clean. Drawings or any writing beyond the addresses will get your letter rejected.
Inside, stick to a regular letter. Victoria County Jail won't accept printed drawings, pages torn from books or puzzles, or computer printouts.
Anything considered contraband or a security threat will get the whole mailing rejected. Skip oversized items too: posters, greeting cards larger than standard size, and anything with electronics, pop-ups, metal, or rope. Include these, and your mail comes back.
Pre Mail Checklist
- ✓ Put the inmate’s full name and CR number on the outside of the envelope
- ✓ Write the mailing address and your return address legibly on the same side of the envelope
- ✓ Do not include printed drawings, pages from books or puzzles, or computer printouts
- ✓ Do not include posters/oversized cards or anything with electronics, pop-ups, metal, or rope
Quick reminders: No return address can mean rejection, and any extra writing/drawings on the outside of the envelope can make the letter unacceptable. Anything considered contraband or a security threat isn’t allowed.
