You'll need to be on the inmate's approved visitation list before you can visit. Each inmate can have up to six people on that list, and only people approved by Jail Staff are allowed in. One more limit to know: only three approved visitors can come on any given visitation day.
Bringing a child? Kids under 18 can visit, but only if they're accompanied by an adult.
Clergy visits work differently from regular family visits. They're allowed by appointment only, and clergy must present credentials when they arrive.
- ✓ The inmate must complete a visitor form and return it to a Jail Officer. The form needs each visitor’s name, address, and date of birth.
- ✓ Records and warrants are checked on visitors before they are allowed to visit.
If you were recently in custody at the Washita County Sheriff's Office Jail, you can't visit anyone currently incarcerated there for at least 30 days after your release date. Wait until that 30-day window has passed before trying to schedule or show up for a visit.
Traveling from out of state and can't make the normal schedule? Out-of-state visitors can request a one-time special visit outside regular visitation hours, but only with permission from the Jail Administrator.
- Call the Jail Administrator during normal business hours: Ask to request a one-time special visit before you travel to the jail.
- Wait for permission before you arrive: The special visit is not guaranteed, and approval needs to be in place first.
Before You Go
- ✓ Call the Jail Administrator at (580) 832-2413 if you have questions about visitation, approval status, or related policies.
- ✓ Follow the jail’s visitation policies closely. If you do not adhere to them, you may receive a rejection notice from Washita County Jail.
If you need an out-of-state special visit, don't make the drive and hope to sort it out at the door. Call the Jail Administrator during normal business hours ahead of time to find out whether a special visit can be approved.
