Before Your First Visit to Webster County Detention Center: What to Bring and Leave Behind
Your first visit to Webster County Detention Center goes much smoother when you know what to bring—and what to leave in the car. This checklist helps you avoid getting turned away at the door.
If you’re 18 or older, bring a government-issued photo ID. Everyone in your party who’s 18+ will be asked for ID at check-in, so don’t assume one person’s ID covers the whole group.
If you’re bringing anyone under 18, plan for them to be with an adult the entire time. Webster County Detention Center requires minors to be accompanied by an adult, and staff will enforce that at check-in.
Bring a face mask for each visitor. Masks are required at Webster County Detention Center, and they don't provide them on-site. Forget yours, and you may not get in.
Reminder: All visitors are subject to search. Keep what you bring to a minimum so check-in goes smoothly.
Leave your cell phone and any recording devices in your car. Webster County Detention Center doesn't allow phones or audio/video equipment past the parking lot - don't even carry them to the entrance.
Dress modestly. The facility requires it for entry, and since everyone goes through a search, keeping your outfit simple speeds up check-in. Anything that slows screening could get you turned away.
Arrive early. Check-in takes time, and visitation runs on set windows. Follow the facility's recommended arrival cutoffs for your visit type - showing up late could mean missing your slot entirely.
