WKCC's Dress Code: What You Can and Can't Wear to Visitation
WKCC can turn visitors away for dress code violations, so plan your outfit with the rules in mind. This guide covers what's allowed and what's not, so you don't get denied entry.
WKCC expects visitors to dress modestly. Clothing that is provocative, revealing, see-through, or excessively tight is not allowed, even if it's something you'd wear in public without a second thought.
Wear appropriate undergarments, and make sure they aren't visible. WKCC also requires shirts that fully cover your shoulders, cleavage, and midriff. Pick a top that stays in place when you sit, stand, and reach.
Footwear is required for visitation at WKCC. Bare feet are not permitted.
Specific Prohibitions
- ✓ Shorts, dresses, or skirts that are more than 2 inches above the knee when standing
- ✓ Tank tops
- ✓ Halter tops
- ✓ Tube tops
- ✓ Any sleeveless shirts (shirts must cover shoulders, cleavage, and midriff)
Spandex, leggings, and yoga pants can't be your outermost layer at WKCC. They're only allowed underneath a skirt, dress, or pants that meet the facility's length requirements.
- ✓ Clothing with obscene language, images, or symbols
- ✓ Gang-related insignia
- ✓ Content that is offensive, derogatory, or disruptive
Head coverings are not allowed at WKCC. That includes hats, caps, bandanas, scarves, and hoods. Religious head coverings are permitted, but expect them to be searched.
Staff have the final say. If they decide your outfit doesn't meet the dress code, that decision stands, regardless of how you interpret the rules.
- Check yourself before you go in - if something looks borderline (too short, too tight, too revealing), change it before you reach the entrance.
- Correct it if staff flag your clothing - visitors who arrive in violation may be given a chance to fix the issue if possible, such as changing clothes or covering up.
- Be prepared to be turned away - if the issue cannot be corrected, WKCC will deny entry.
