How to Get Help Signing Up for MassHealth at Western Mass Recovery Health Center (Holyoke & Chicopee)

Western Mass Recovery Health Center has bilingual Certified Application Counselors who can sit down with you and help you apply for MassHealth, Health Safety Net, or a Qualified Health Plan. If you’ve never applied before - or you’re not sure which option fits - this is the place to get guided, in-person help without having to figure it out alone.

Both the Holyoke and Chicopee locations offer walk-in enrollment help Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. No appointment needed - just show up during those hours and work with the enrollment team directly.

1. Pick a weekday and arrive during walk-in hours - Both Holyoke and Chicopee offer walk-in insurance enrollment help Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
2. Get there early if you need to start a brand-new application - New applications can’t be started after 3:00 PM, so plan to arrive well before then.
3. Check in and take your place in line - Walk-in services are first-come, first-served, so you’ll be helped in the order people arrive.
4. Meet with a bilingual Certified Application Counselor - A counselor will help you with MassHealth, Health Safety Net, or a Qualified Health Plan, and guide you through the enrollment process.
5. Share the information and documents they request - Bring what you can (ID, Social Security number, and proof of income are common starting points), and the counselor will walk you through anything else needed - especially if you’re 65 or older and asset information is required.

Walk-ins are first-come, first-served, so arriving earlier usually means a smoother visit. Planning to start a new application? Don't show up late - after 3:00 PM, staff won't be able to begin one. If you're cutting it close, come back the next morning instead. You'll need enough time for intake and document review.
