How to Register for Visits at the Women's Correctional Center (WCC): Step-by-Step
Before you can visit anyone at the Women's Correctional Center (WCC), you need to register. That means completing two separate forms and getting approved before you show up.
WCC has a two-part registration requirement for all visitors age 18 and over before entering the Secure Perimeter. You'll need to complete both an initial registration Visiting Form and a Request to Visit Form. These are legal forms, so take your time and answer honestly. False information can get you denied entry and your visiting privileges suspended.
If you're 18 or older, start with the initial registration Visiting Form. This needs to be done before you try to enter the Secure Perimeter. WCC lets you complete it online or in person. If you go the online route, print or save a copy so you can reference what you submitted if staff have questions when you arrive.
Next up is the Request to Visit Form, which also needs to be completed before entering the Secure Perimeter. Have it ready to hand to the Public Lobby Officer when you arrive. You won't get any further into the facility without it.
Don't assume you're approved just because you submitted the forms. Call WCC at (413) 730-6800 to confirm whether you've been approved or denied before making the trip.
WCC can deny visiting privileges for several reasons. A felony conviction within the last year or incarceration within the past year can disqualify you. So can open cases or warrants, unless you're an immediate family member. Other grounds for denial include breaking WCC rules and regulations, posing a safety or security concern, or appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Active restraining orders are another common issue. If there's a restraining order (including a 209A) involving the inmate, or an active restraining order against you by an inmate, your visit will be denied.
Note: WCC requires two forms for visitors 18 and over (the initial Visiting Form and the Request to Visit Form). Double-check every answer before submitting. False information or disqualifying issues can lead to denial or suspension of your visiting privileges.
