How to Visit Facility
Visiting the Women's Correctional Center (WCC) is straightforward once you know the rules. Start here so you don't get turned away at the door or lose visiting time.
All in-person visits at WCC are non-contact. You'll be separated from the person you're visiting, and no physical contact is allowed at any point during the visit.
If you're 18 or older, expect paperwork before you get anywhere near the secure perimeter. WCC requires two forms: an initial registration Visiting Form (which can be completed online or in person) and a separate Request to Visit Form. The Request to Visit Form must be completed and then presented to the Public Lobby Officer before you can enter.
Security reminder: Lock your vehicle while it is in the WCC parking lot. Vehicles are also subject to search while on State Property.
Never leave children or pets unattended in your vehicle. If staff find them unattended, your visit will be stopped, you'll be asked to leave the premises, and the visit still counts as one of the inmate's visits for the week.
Anyone over 18 must review the WCC visiting rules and regulations before visiting. Build a little extra time into your plan for this, especially on your first visit.
Steps to Follow
- ✓ If you are 18 or older, review the WCC visiting rules and regulations before you try to visit.
- ✓ Complete the initial registration Visiting Form (required for visitors 18+ before entering the secure perimeter).
- ✓ Complete the Request to Visit Form (required for visitors 18+ before entering the secure perimeter).
- ✓ Lock your vehicle while you are in the WCC parking lot.
- ✓ Be prepared for your vehicle to be searched while on State Property.
- ✓ Make sure children and pets are not left unattended in your vehicle, or your visit will be stopped, you will be asked to leave, and the visit will count for the week.
- Bring your completed Request to Visit Form - WCC requires it before you enter the secure perimeter.
- Present the form to the Public Lobby Officer - this is part of the check-in process.
Reminder: Visits at WCC are non-contact. Plan accordingly, as no physical contact is permitted.
Confirm the current process for the two required forms. The initial registration Visiting Form can be completed online or in person, but verify where you should complete it and when it needs to be done. Also confirm how WCC wants the Request to Visit Form handled, including exactly where and when to present it to the Public Lobby Officer.
Before you go, check what "subject to search while on State Property" means in practice for visitors that day and what to expect in the parking area. Even if you're only there briefly, lock your vehicle.
Bringing kids or a pet? Have a plan before you pull into the lot. WCC's rule is firm: unattended children or pets will end the visit, you'll be told to leave, and the visit still counts for the week.
Find out how WCC wants visitors 18 and over to review the visiting rules and regulations. Some facilities handle this before you arrive; others do it on-site. Knowing the process ahead of time helps you avoid delays at check-in.
Note: Since all in-person visits are non-contact, consider confirming what counts as prohibited contact if you have a special situation or an accessibility need.
