Ordering Food Packages for an Inmate (How Union Supply Works with GDC — what families should know)
Families and friends can send food packages to someone in Georgia Department of Corrections custody through Union Supply—just make sure you've confirmed their current location and that their facility participates in the program.
GDC allows Union Supply food packages for people at State Prisons, Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), and Probation Detention Centers. If you're an approved family member or friend, you can place an order through one of Union Supply's approved methods.
Before ordering: Use GDC's
To order by mail, send your completed order to: Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd, Dept. 421, P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059. Double-check that the offender information matches exactly what's required on the paperwork.
Prefer to order by phone? Call 1-562-361-5719 or the toll-free line at 1-855-247-0563. Phone orders let you confirm details in real time.
Fax orders go to 1-310-603-1188. Make sure the form is complete and legible to avoid processing delays.
Every Union Supply order includes a $2.95 shipping and handling charge. This fee is non-refundable, so review your order carefully before submitting.
GDC caps how much you can send, and limits vary by facility type. State Prisons and ITFs allow up to $100 per offender or 15 lbs. per package - whichever you hit first. Probation Detention Centers have a lower limit: $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package.
Heads up: Multiple orders for the same person get combined into one package - and that combined package still can't exceed the spending or weight limits.
