Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) doesn't allow people on the outside to call an inmate directly. Your loved one can't receive inbound calls at Debra K. Johnson Rehab Center - all phone contact has to start from inside the facility using the approved inmate phone system.

Emergency: If there’s a family emergency, contact the facility chaplain. The chaplain may help facilitate a phone call for the inmate when necessary.

TDOC uses ConnectNetwork (powered by GTL) for the inmate telephone system. This is where you'll pay for calls, manage your account, and set up electronic payments.

Rate: ConnectNetwork calls cost $0.075 per minute (7.5¢/minute), effective July 1, 2024.

Adding Funds and Credits

  • Add funds electronically through ConnectNetwork (powered by GTL) using its payment and account tools
  • Mail funds to buy telephone credits directly to the ITS service provider: Global Tel*Link Corporation Dept 1705 Denver, CO 80291-1705

Calls can only go to numbers on your loved one's approved telephone list. TDOC allows up to ten phone numbers on that list - family, friends, etc. - and the system will only connect calls to those registered numbers.

  1. Have the inmate start the request - changes to the approved telephone number list have to be initiated by the inmate.
  2. Route it through the unit team - the inmate submits the change request through the unit team at their designated facility.

Want to be removed from someone's approved telephone list? The process is different. You'll need to submit a written request to the facility warden or superintendent asking to be taken off.

If there's money left in an inmate's ITS trust fund when they're released from TDOC custody, the ITS service provider refunds the remaining balance directly to the inmate.
