Visiting Dress Code: What You Can and Can't Wear to Debra K. Johnson Rehab Center
Dress code is one of the fastest ways to get turned away at the door. Debra K. Johnson Rehab Center follows TDOC visitation rules built around safe, secure screening. What you wear (and what you carry) matters.
Every visitor at Debra K. Johnson Rehab Center, including children, is expected to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. This isn't just about appearance. Your outfit has to work with the facility's security process, including screening at entry. Clothing that's too revealing, hard to search, or unsafe in a secure setting can stop a visit before it starts.
Note: Visitors are required to pass through multiple security screenings, including a body scanner. Clothing and footwear rules are enforced with that screening in mind.
Plan to travel light. Leave phones, smart watches, and wallets in your secured vehicle. Once inside the visitation area, you're only allowed to bring a photo ID and car keys or a key fob. Choose clothes that don't depend on extra accessories or pockets full of items you won't be allowed to carry in.

- ✓ Clothing made from spandex or spandex-type fabric
- ✓ Transparent or translucent clothing
- ✓ Sleeveless shirts and blouses
- ✓ Dresses or clothing that exposes a bare chest or midriff
- ✓ Camouflage attire
- ✓ Worn or tattered clothing
- ✓ Bandanas
- ✓ Excessive jewelry
- ✓ Flip flops
- ✓ Shower shoes
- ✓ Steel-toed or composite-toed shoes
Footwear is a common reason people get stopped at the entrance. Flip flops and shower shoes are not allowed at Debra K. Johnson Rehab Center, and neither are steel-toed or composite-toed shoes. Pick shoes that fit the rules so you're not scrambling at the last minute.
Not sure what to wear? Aim for simple, conservative, and comfortable. Skip spandex or spandex-like materials, and avoid anything see-through or translucent. Wear a top with sleeves and enough coverage that your chest and midriff aren't exposed. For shoes, go with a standard closed-toe option. Leave the flip flops, shower shoes, and any steel-toed or composite-toed footwear at home.
- ✓ Leave phones, smart watches, wallets, and other personal items in your secured vehicle
- ✓ Bring only your photo ID and your car keys or key fob into the visitation area
- ✓ Keep an extra layer in the car so you can adjust quickly if needed
Show up wearing something prohibited (spandex-type clothing, a sleeveless top, or banned shoes) and you can be denied entry for that visit. The easiest backup plan: keep a change of clothes and a pair of compliant shoes in your vehicle. That way you can fix the issue quickly without losing your visit.
Reminder: Visitors go through multiple security screenings, including a body scanner. Clothing and footwear problems will almost certainly be caught at the door.
