What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for a Visit at Wood County Jail
A little prep before you leave home can save you a wasted trip. Use the lists below to make sure you have what Wood County Jail requires and that you're not carrying anything that could get your visit denied.
Bring a valid photo ID. Wood County Jail requires every visitor to show identification with a photograph before entering. A driver license, U.S. passport, or Texas Department of Public Safety ID card all work.

Tip: If you're unsure about an outfit, switch to something more conservative before you go. A quick change at home beats getting turned away at check-in.
Items Not Allowed

- ✓ Smoking, tobacco products, or vaping items
- ✓ Cell phones
- ✓ Tablets
- ✓ Recording devices
- ✓ Any other electronics
Plan to enter the visitation booth empty-handed. Don't count on the lobby for storage. The Wood County Sheriff's Office isn't responsible for items left there, so secure your belongings elsewhere before you arrive.
Bringing kids? Know the age rule first. Anyone under 17 must be accompanied by an adult to visit at Wood County Jail.
Keep your group small. Wood County Jail allows no more than two people to visit one inmate at a time. Children count toward that limit.
Reminder: You're responsible for the behavior of any minors in your care during the visit.
