How to Schedule Your First Visit at Yavapai County Jail: Camp Verde vs. Prescott
Visiting for the first time can feel overwhelming, especially with two detention centers to keep straight. The good news: scheduling works the same way for both — the difference is where you go and how check-in works.
At Camp Verde Detention Center, visits don't happen inside the main jail. Instead, you'll use a separate visitation building with video monitors, right next to the detention center parking lot. When you arrive, head straight to that building - that's where your visit takes place.
At Prescott Detention Center, visits happen inside the facility. Check in at the Sheriff's Office public lobby near the flagpoles - staff there will get you started.
Same-day visits aren't available. You'll need to book at least 1 day ahead, and you can schedule up to 14 days in advance. Do it online, or stop by the detention center in person during visitation hours.
Hours to know: On-site visits run Monday through Friday, 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm. That's also when you can schedule in person.
- Get the inmate’s full name ready - you’ll need it to schedule.
- Pick a date and time in the allowed window - your visit must be at least 1 day away, and no more than 14 days out.
- Choose how you want to schedule - you can schedule online, or you can schedule in person at the detention center during visitation hours.
- If you want to visit without driving in - online internet video visitation is also available by standard internet connection for a small charge.
Tip: Check the county's website for the online scheduling link.
At Camp Verde, skip the main building. Park in the detention center lot and walk to the separate visitation building with video monitors - that's where check-in and your visit happen.
At Prescott, visits take place inside the facility. Head to the Sheriff's Office public lobby by the flagpoles to check in. Staff will walk you through what comes next.
Visits are 20 minutes. If you're driving a long way, keep that short window in mind when planning your day.
On-site video visits are free at both detention centers. If you can't make the trip, remote video visits are available online for a small fee.
