How to Send Mail to Someone at Rincon Unit After December 15, 2025
After December 15, 2025, personal mail for someone at Rincon Unit goes through a digital scanning process. To avoid having your mail returned, use the correct address for what you're sending and format the envelope exactly as shown below.
Starting December 15, 2025, personal mail for someone at Rincon Unit no longer goes directly to the prison. Instead, send it to the ADCRR Digital Mail Processing Center in Texas. Staff there will scan your letter and upload it to your loved one's secure tablet.
Address personal letters, greeting cards, and photos exactly like this (effective December 15, 2025): Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry Inmate's Full First and Last Name + ADCRR Number Prison Complex, Assigned Unit PO Box 211309 Dallas, TX 75211
Note: Missing the inmate's number, full name, or correct address? The mail gets returned. ADCRR confirms there's no extra cost to send or receive mail under the new digital system.
Packages and publications go to a different address. Starting January 7, 2026, send them to the centralized processing location in Phoenix: Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry Inmate's Full First and Last Name + ADCRR Number Prison Complex, Assigned Unit 801 E Jefferson Street Phoenix, AZ 85034
Note: Do not send packages to the Digital Mail Processing Center in Texas. Packages must go to the centralized Phoenix address.
ADCRR has a grace period running from December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026. During this window, if you accidentally send personal mail to the prison instead of the Digital Processing Center, staff will still process it rather than sending it back.
Deadline: Starting January 15, 2026, mail that is improperly sent to the prison complex instead of the Digital Processing Center will be returned to sender.
Envelope Formatting

Want to write often? Go ahead. ADCRR says there's no limit on how much mail you can send to be scanned and uploaded. There's also no extra cost to you or the person receiving it.
How it works: Personal mail is sent to the Digital Mail Processing Center in Texas, then scanned and uploaded to the inmate’s secure tablet.
ADCRR says its partner, Securus, will take reasonable steps to process, scan, and make digital mail available within 3 business days of receipt.
Once processed, the mail is delivered digitally. Your loved one views it on their secure tablet after scanning and upload.
The original physical letter isn't forwarded to the unit after scanning. ADCRR says the contracted provider stores originals for 90 days, then professionally disposes of them.
- Decide if you want the original back - If you want the physical letter, photo, or card returned after scanning, plan for it before you seal the envelope.
- Include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) - Put a SASE inside your correspondence so the original can be mailed back to you after it has been scanned.
After release from ADCRR custody, your loved one can still access their digitized mail through a secure public website. They'll receive login instructions and have 90 days to download their files before the items are deleted.
Reminder: The original physical mail is stored for 90 days after scanning, then professionally disposed of.
