Three Ways to Send Money to Someone at Broome County Jail (commissary & bail)

Broome County Corrections lists SmartDeposit (smartdeposit.com) as an approved way to add money for commissary. Need to send funds without calling during business hours? This is the main online option the county points families to. SmartDeposit also says its service works for both commissary deposits and bail payments. That doesn't replace the county's official bail instructions (see GovPayNet below), but it's worth knowing if you're comparing your options.

Prefer to handle it by phone? Broome County Corrections lists a deposit line at (866) 394-0490. Good option if the online system gives you trouble or you just want to talk to someone.

For bail payments, Broome County directs you to its GovPayNet page (broomecountyny.gov/sheriff/govpaynet). If you're paying bail - not commissary - use this route. It's what the jail expects for bail processing. SmartDeposit does say it can handle bail payments too. But for Broome County Corrections specifically, the county's own instructions point to GovPayNet.

Commissary help line: The Sheriff's Office lists the commissary extension as 2344. Call here to check on a deposit, ask about an account balance, or confirm funds posted.
