Your mail won't be delivered the usual way. At Cass County Jail, incoming mail is opened, inspected for contraband, then scanned and delivered to the inmate electronically. The original won't be handed over untouched.
Outgoing mail from inmates is picked up by the U.S. Postal Service, except on holidays and weekends. If you're waiting on a response, factor in extra time around those days.
Outgoing mail shouldn't be held longer than 24 hours, according to jail policy. The exceptions: holidays, weekends, or times when staff can't process mail. If a letter seems delayed, check those timing issues first.
