What to Bring (and Leave Behind) on Visitation Day at Chickasaw Correctional Facility

Visitation at Chickasaw Correctional Facility is a privilege, not a right. It can be suspended for rule violations or paused based on facility conditions. The best way to protect your trip? Double-check that you're approved and plan to follow every rule from the moment you arrive.

Before you plan a long drive, check the approved visitation list. Each inmate can have up to ten people on their list, and immediate family members stay on permanently unless the inmate removes them. There's also a group-size limit: no more than five people total - including babies and children - can visit at one time. If multiple relatives want to come, coordinate ahead of time.

  • If you’re 16 or older: make sure you’re on the offender’s approved visitation list for that visit, and bring your picture ID
  • Be ready to present your ID, sign the visitor sign-in log, complete registration, and have the top of your right hand stamped before you enter
What to Bring (and Leave Behind) on Visitation Day at Chickasaw Correctional Facility
  1. Park only in designated visitation parking - Use the areas marked for visitation, and expect that vehicles on prison grounds are subject to search.
  2. Lock up your belongings in your vehicle - Go in as “light” as possible so you aren’t stuck figuring out what to do with personal items at the entrance.
  3. Check in with your photo ID - You’ll present proper ID, sign the visitor sign-in log, and register.
  4. Get your hand stamp - Staff will stamp the top of your right hand before you’re allowed into the visitation center.
  5. Complete security screening - You must submit to a search of your person by frisk search and/or an electronic scanner before entry.

Note: You can't keep personal keys while you're in the visitation center. Leave your keys and other belongings locked in your vehicle.

S5

  • Personal keys (you can’t keep them on you inside the visitation center)
  • Tobacco products (you may bring them onto prison grounds, but they must stay locked in your vehicle at all times - do not take them into the visitation center)

Follow the visitation dress code closely. If you don’t, you’ll be told to leave and you may be turned away for the day.

Delays and denials usually come down to three things: approval status, group size, or a rule violation. Visitation can also be suspended based on facility conditions. Before committing to a long drive, confirm you're on the inmate's approved list (remember, only ten people can be on it) and keep your group to five or fewer - including children - so you don't lose the day at the gate.
