How Visiting Hours Work at Eastern Correctional: One Visit Per Week, Two-Hour Limit, Three-Person Maximum

Visits at Eastern Correctional aren't walk-in. You'll need to schedule an appointment with the prison where your loved one is housed. Show up without one, and you're making a wasted trip.

Under normal circumstances, an offender gets one visiting session per week. Most families treat it like a weekly slot: pick who's coming, lock in the appointment, and make that one session count.

Each session maxes out at two hours. Arrive ready to check in, and have a sense of what you want to talk about - you don't want to spend your limited time just getting settled.

Only three approved visitors can attend a single session. If more people want to come, they'll need to wait for another week's appointment.

That three-person cap applies per visit, not to your full approved list. Each offender can have up to 18 approved visitors total (adults and minors combined), but only three can attend any one session. Bigger families usually rotate who comes each week so everyone gets time over the course of the month.

Planning Advice

  • Keep a running “rotation” plan so different people from the approved list of up to 18 can visit across different weeks.
  • Pick the three attendees for each session ahead of time and stick to that plan.
  • Confirm who’s coming before you schedule, so you don’t burn the one weekly session on a last-minute shuffle.
  1. Think in weeks, not one long day - with a two-hour limit, “more time” usually means planning visits across multiple weeks.
  2. Split larger groups into a rotation - since only one visit per week is allowed under normal circumstances and only three people can attend each session, rotate different combinations over time.
  3. Schedule your appointment as soon as you can - appointments control access, so don’t wait until the last minute if you’re trying to line up a specific week.

Note: Visits are appointment-only and managed by the prison where your loved one is housed. Confirm any special circumstances or questions directly when you schedule.
