Setting Up Virtual Visits at Franklin County Corrections (GTL VisitMe) — A Family Guide

Start at the GTL VisitMe portal: https://franklinOH.GtlVisitMe.com/app. You'll create your account there and schedule your visit time.

You'll also need GTL's visitation apps on your device. In the Google Play Store, search for "GTL Inmate Visits" to find the right download. Franklin County requires BOTH apps - install only one and you may hit a wall when it's time to join your visit.

  • Allow camera and microphone permissions so the visit can connect
  • Turn on notifications so you don’t miss visit reminders or status updates
  • Use a stable Wi‑Fi or strong data connection (weak signal = frozen video or dropped calls)
  • Close and reopen the app if it hangs, then restart your phone/tablet if needed
  • Double-check you installed BOTH required GTL visitation apps (not just one)

Each incarcerated person gets two free virtual visits per week, 20 minutes each. Keep that weekly limit in mind when scheduling so you don't burn through both sessions earlier than planned.

Need more than two visits? You can purchase additional virtual visits at low cost. These are available through restricted-access tablets in FCCCII housing units and don't count against the weekly free allowance.
