How to receive phone calls from someone at Goose Creek Correctional Center
Compare the billing options for receiving calls from someone at Goose Creek Correctional Center. You need a Securus account for billed calls, but you can receive the two monthly free calls without one.
Alaska DOC uses Securus Technologies for calls to family and friends, including calls from Goose Creek. The person in custody must call you: incarcerated people can make outgoing calls but cannot receive incoming calls at their facility. You need a Securus billing account for billed calls, but not for the monthly free calls described below.
Alaska DOC offers two Securus billing arrangements for receiving collect calls. Advance Connect is the prepaid option: you hold the account, and call charges are deducted automatically from its balance.
Direct Bill lets you receive collect calls with charges billed directly to you through Securus Correctional Billing Services. This option requires a credit check.
You can set up a billing account through the Securus website at https://securustech.net/phone-services or by calling 1-800-844-6591.
Under Alaska DOC's rate effective January 1, 2026, calls cost $0.085 per minute. That rate covers local, interstate and intrastate calls.
Effective February 1, 2026, Alaska DOC gives every incarcerated person two free calls each month, credited to their Securus account on the first day of the month. The first two calls they make that month are free; they cannot save those free calls for another time or accumulate them.
You do not need a Securus account to receive these two monthly free calls. They can be made to any domestic number.
