Setting Up Video Visits at Hampton Roads Regional Jail: How to schedule, what to provide, hours, and what to expect

To book an at-home video visit at Hampton Roads Regional Jail, you need to schedule it at least 24 hours in advance. You’ll also need to pay for each scheduled session before the visit, using the jail’s designated payment site (www.sccurustech.netividcom). Plan carefully before you click “confirm,” because scheduled video visit appointments are non-refundable.

What to Provide

  • Inmate’s legal name
  • Inmate’s Jail ID number
  • A valid state or federal government photo ID for the visitor
  • Visitor must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid home address (required for family/friend visitors)
  • Valid working telephone number
  • Valid working email address

Morning visits run daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If you prefer an earlier time slot, this is your window.

There’s also a daily afternoon block, Monday through Sunday, from 2:30 PM to 6:45 PM. This is often the easiest range to fit around work or school schedules.

Evening visits run daily from 7:30 PM to 10:45 PM. If nights work best for your schedule, book within this block.

Expect family and friend video visits to be recorded and electronically monitored by Hampton Roads Regional Jail personnel. By using the video visitation system, you’re consenting to that recording and monitoring - so treat the call like it’s being watched and saved.

Attorney visits: Attorney video visits are not recorded or monitored.

Payment is required before the visit for each scheduled session, and HRRJ directs visitors to pay through www.sccurustech.netividcom. Once the appointment is scheduled, it’s non-refundable - so double-check the date/time and the inmate information before you submit payment.

  1. Confirm the inmate’s legal name and Jail ID number - those two details are required to schedule, and a mismatch can derail your booking.
  2. Have your photo ID ready (and confirm you’re eligible) - HRRJ requires a valid state or federal picture ID, and the visitor must be 18 or older.
  3. Enter your contact details carefully - family/friend visitors must provide a valid home address, plus a working phone number and email address.
  4. Pay before the visit - you must pay for each scheduled session prior to visitation.
  5. Treat the appointment time as fixed - scheduled sessions are non-refundable, so pick a time you can reliably make within the daily visitation blocks.
