Before You Visit Huron County Jail: A Short Checklist (Recording, Cancellations, Conduct)
Video visits at Huron County Jail are straightforward once you understand the timing rules and what can get a visit cut short. This quick checklist will help you avoid surprises.
Assume your conversation could be reviewed later. Huron County Jail states that video visits may be recorded. Keep the call focused on family updates and practical matters - skip sensitive personal information or anything you wouldn't want replayed.
A booked time slot doesn't guarantee your visit will happen. Huron County Jail reserves the right to cancel or terminate any visit if a visitor doesn't meet eligibility requirements or breaks the rules. Want to avoid a last-second cutoff? Keep things calm, clear, and rule-friendly from the moment the session starts.
- ✓ Don’t try to join the visit if you don’t meet the facility’s visitation criteria.
- ✓ Don’t do anything during the session that could be treated as a rule violation.
- ✓ If something you’re doing is questioned by staff or the system, stop and adjust right away - pushing back can get the visit terminated.
Scheduling Windows
- ✓ Schedule up to two (2) weeks in advance.
- ✓ Schedule no less than 24 hours before the visit time (same-day booking won’t work).
You have two ways to schedule a video visit. You can book online through ICSolutions, or you can use the registration computer (kiosk) in the jail’s public lobby during business hours: 8:30am–4:30pm Monday–Friday, excluding holidays.
Before you schedule, confirm everyone joining the visit meets the registration rules. Visitors must be 18 or older. Minors between ages 10 and 18 can visit, but they must be registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian. Group size matters too: each inmate may have up to four (4) registered visitors at a time, and that total includes children under 18.
The jail offers both on-site and off-site video visits. Unrestricted inmates get one on-site twenty (20) minute video visit per week, or up to 10 off-site twenty (20) minute video visits as scheduled. Knowing which type you're booking helps you plan - especially when coordinating with other family members or working around a busy week.
- Re-check your appointment in ICSolutions - confirm the visit is scheduled for the right day and time.
- Use the lobby registration kiosk if needed - you can also check or schedule through the public lobby registration computer (kiosk) during business hours (8:30am–4:30pm Monday–Friday, excluding holidays).
