You must be at least 18 years old and registered on the inmate's visitation list before you can visit. Check that you're on the list first, since only registered visitors are allowed.

Note: Huron County Jail uses video visitation, not in-person visits. You still need to be on the registered visitor list for video visits.

Kids and teens ages 10 to 18 can visit, but not alone. A minor must be registered under a parent or guardian and visit alongside that adult.

Note: Children under 18 count toward the total visitor limit for a visit. Plan your group size before you schedule.

Each inmate can have up to four (4) registered visitors at a time, and children under 18 count toward that total. If your group is larger (say, two adults and three kids), you'll need to split into separate visits.

Practical Tips for Children

  • ✓ Schedule early when you can. Visits can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance, but not less than 24 hours before.
  • ✓ Schedule from home using the ICSolutions website, or use the registration computer (kiosk) in the public lobby during business hours (8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays).
  • ✓ If you are bringing kids, count heads first. Remember the four-registered-visitor limit includes minors.
  1. Get the adult visitor registered and the visit scheduled: Use the ICSolutions website at home, or schedule on the lobby kiosk during the posted weekday business hours.
  2. Add minors the right way: For ages 10 to 18, register them under a parent or guardian and plan for that adult to attend the visit with them.
  3. Show up prepared: If you are using the lobby kiosk, give yourself extra time during business hours and bring a photo ID for the accompanying adult so you can confirm your identity if asked.

Note: Visit availability depends on the inmate's status. Unrestricted inmates get one on-site 20-minute video visit per week, or up to 10 off-site 20-minute video visits as scheduled. Call the Sheriff's Office to confirm any special limits or paperwork before scheduling.
