How to Schedule Your First Video Visit at Jackson County Detention

Since November 19, 2018, Jackson County Detention Center has used video visitation exclusively - both on-site visits at the jail and remote visits from home. There are no in-person contact visits. Instead, you'll schedule a video session through the facility's system. Once registered, your visit is tied to your account and a PIN you'll use to start the session.

You'll need to register as a first-time visitor before scheduling anything. Jackson County Detention uses the Securus system - you can sign up online at videovisitanywhere.com or through the Securus Video Visit App. Pick whichever works best for you. Either way, the goal is the same: get your visitor profile created so you can book a time slot.

  • An email address (you’ll need it to complete registration)
  • A photo (you’ll be required to take one during the process)
  • A government-issued ID (used along with your photo to verify you)
  • Completion of the full registration process (you can’t schedule a visit until registration is finished)

After registering, watch for a confirmation email containing your personal identification number (PIN). You'll need this on visit day. The facility recommends printing the email and bringing it with you. At minimum, make sure you can pull up the PIN quickly when it's time to check in.

  1. Arrive on time - Jackson County Detention requires visitors to be on time for the scheduled video visit.
  2. Go to the jail lobby visitation monitors - these are the on-site screens used to start video visits.
  3. Enter your PIN - type in the PIN from your confirmation email.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to begin - once you complete the prompts, your visit will start.

Remote video visits run in two daily windows: 8:00 AM–5:30 PM and 6:00 PM–9:30 PM. On-site video visits at the jail are available 8:00 AM–7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. When booking, double-check you're selecting the right visit type (remote vs. on-site) so you see the correct available hours.

Planning tip: Remote visits have a 30-minute break from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, while on-site visits run straight through to 7:00 PM on weekdays. Need an evening slot? Aim for the 6:00 PM–9:30 PM remote window or grab a weekday on-site time before 7:00 PM.

Troubleshoot

  • Confirm you completed first-time registration (visits can’t be scheduled until registration is finished)
  • Double-check that you entered an email address during registration (your confirmation is sent there)
  • Look for the confirmation email that includes your PIN (you’ll need that PIN for check-in)
  • If the website isn’t working for you, try registering through the Securus Video Visit App instead

Note: The facility's instructions don't list a dedicated technical support contact. If you run into issues, try working through registration again carefully or switch between the website and app to see if that resolves the problem.
