Sending letters, photos and books to someone at Pitchess
You can send letters, printed photos, books and magazines to someone at Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center, but they do not all use the same route. Letters go to a post office box; books and magazines must come directly from a bookstore or publisher.
Send your letter to the Terminal Annex mailing address, not the jail’s physical street address. Include the recipient’s complete name and seven-digit booking number, using this address format:
[Recipient’s complete name and seven-digit booking number] Terminal Annex P.O. Box 86164 Los Angeles, CA 90086-0164
You may send up to five printed photos. The allowed sizes are 2×3 inches or 4×6 inches.
You may have up to three softcover books and three magazines sent to your loved one each week. These must be mailed directly from a physical or online bookstore or a publisher, rather than mailed by you.
Personally mailed packages are prohibited. Care packages use a separate commissary-ordering route: you can order them through the Keefe Commissary website.
