How to schedule your first visit (Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility)
Before trying to schedule an in-person visit at Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility, check the current status. The facility's posted policy says in-person visitation has been suspended until further notice due to COVID-19. Visitation options can change. Call (501) 340-7001 and select option #1 to confirm what's available and what you need to do next.
If in-person visits are being offered, you'll need to schedule ahead. The facility requires at least twenty-four (24) hours advance notice to the visitation section. Call (501) 340-7001 and select option #1 for scheduling and current instructions. That quick call can save you a wasted trip if anything has changed.
When choosing a date, make sure you're using the correct visiting day. Days are assigned by the inmate's last name or housing unit: - Last names A–M: Monday or Saturday - Last names N–Z: Tuesday or Sunday - Inmates in Units A, B, and W: Wednesday or Thursday
Regular visiting hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation periods start on the hour, with one exception: visits scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Arrive early. If you're 10 minutes or more late, you won't be allowed in - and you'll have to reschedule for the following week.
Reminder: Inmates are allowed one thirty-minute social visit per week, and no more than three visitors are permitted during that 30-minute period.
ID is the most common reason people get turned away, so plan around it. All visitors must show proper photo identification before the visit. Accepted forms include a driver's license, military ID, school ID, or law enforcement ID. Kids under 18 don't need their own ID, but they must be accompanied by an adult with valid identification.
Locker rule: You must enter through the visitors’ entrance and secure your belongings in the lockers in the visitors’ lobby. You can’t take items into the visit - this includes things like extra clothing items, notebooks, pens/pencils, money, food, keys, and cell phones.
After check-in, you'll go through security screening. All visitors (except law enforcement) must clear the metal detector. If you don't clear it, the visitation deputy will search and clear you before you can proceed.
