What Mail You Can (and Can’t) Send to Pulaski County Detention
Sending mail to someone at Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility? Keep it simple. Items the facility doesn't allow are typically returned to sender, so a clean, plain letter with the correct addressing gives you the best chance of getting through.
Start here: Do not mail cash or checks. Also skip extra envelopes, stamps, and writing paper, because the facility does not accept those items in incoming mail (they can be purchased from commissary).
Don't include photos in the envelope. Pulaski County's rules also ban photocopies of pictures, so even a printed copy of a photo can get the whole piece of mail rejected and sent back.
- ✓ Construction paper
- ✓ Glue
- ✓ Tape
- ✓ Glitter
- ✓ Any fragrance on or in the envelope
- ✓ Stickers
- ✓ Re-address labels
- ✓ Ribbon
- ✓ Metal (anything with metal parts)
- ✓ Magic marker
- ✓ Crayons
Skip magazines and newspapers, even ones coming straight from a publisher. The facility won't accept them.
Pulaski County does not allow books to be mailed in or brought in. That includes books shipped from publishers and common booksellers. This ties into their broader policy of not accepting magazines and newspapers from publishers either.
Bible exception: Soft-bound, standard-size Bibles are allowed. The package must be clearly marked "Bible" on the outside near the address. Family or a publisher can send it.
Use this exact format on the envelope. Make sure both the Inmate ID and Inmate Name are included: Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility Inmate ID, Inmate Name 500 Amity Road, Ste. 5B, PMB53 Conway, AR 72032
Practical Tips
- ✓ Send a plain letter only. Do not include cash or checks.
- ✓ Leave photos out, including photocopies of pictures.
- ✓ Do not add stamps, extra envelopes, or writing paper. Those are not accepted in incoming mail.
- ✓ Do not mail any books. The only exception is a soft-bound, standard-size Bible.
- ✓ If you are sending a Bible, mark the outside of the package “Bible” near the address so it is handled correctly.
- ✓ Double-check the addressing before you mail it. The envelope needs the inmate’s name and inmate ID, and it must be addressed to Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility at 500 Amity Road, Ste. 5B, PMB53, Conway, AR 72032.
Quick rejection traps: Avoid anything decorative or non-standard (stickers, labels, glitter, fragrance, marker, crayon, metal, ribbon). Magazines and newspapers from the publisher are also not accepted.
