On-site video visits at Russell County Detention Center are free, and remote video visits cost $0.20 per minute. Either way, you register with Inmate Sales first and then reserve a time. On-site visits can happen only on the inmate’s assigned weekly visitation day.

How to Choose and Book a Video Visit at Russell County Detention Center

On-site video visits are free at Russell County Detention Center, 228 Brian Walters Drive, Jamestown, KY 42642. Each session lasts 20 minutes and allows up to three visitors. On-site operating hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Each inmate has one assigned day per week for on-site visits, and you can visit only on that day, during the inmate’s free time. Ask the inmate which day it is before you reserve.

Remote video visits cost $0.20 per minute and are available daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. You need an internet-connected device with a camera and speaker. Each inmate is allowed unlimited remote visits per day.

Russell County Detention Center uses Inmate Sales, also known as Combined Public Communication (CPC), for video visitation. You must register before scheduling either an on-site or remote visit.

  1. Register with Inmate Sales.
  2. Find Russell County Detention Center.

For an on-site visit, check the inmate’s assigned weekly visitation day, then reserve a time online through Inmate Sales within the on-site hours and the inmate’s free time. Sign-up is limited and first-come, first-served. The on-site session is free.

For a remote visit, purchase visitation minutes through Inmate Sales, then schedule your session within the daily 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. window. Purchased visitation minutes are not transferable.

  1. After finding Russell County Detention Center, select “New Purchase.”
  2. Choose Russell County Detention Center and the “Remote” visit product.
  3. Enter your personal information and purchase minutes.
  4. Schedule your remote visit.

For an on-site session, prepare your identification and clothing before you travel. All non-contact visitation rules also apply to the video system. Lewd, profane or inappropriate behavior results in loss of video-visitation privileges for the visitor, the inmate or both.

  • âś“ Every visitor must have proper state- or government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license, foreign ID or passport.
  • âś“ Wear a shirt and shoes. No low-cut blouses, tank tops, short skirts or dresses, tight shorts, hats or other provocative clothing are allowed.
  • âś“ Visitors under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be monitored at all times.
  • âś“ Bring only your picture ID and/or a set of keys into the visitation area unless the jail allows other belongings.

For your remote session, make sure your device has a speaker, camera and internet connection.
