Leave medication at home - pills aren't allowed in the Visiting Room. The only exceptions are physician-prescribed heart medication and a physician-prescribed asthma pump (inhaler).

  1. Confirm it’s an allowed exception - Only physician-prescribed heart medication or a physician-prescribed asthma inhaler can be brought in.
  2. Keep heart medication properly labeled - Approved heart medication must be in a properly labeled container.
  3. Give it to the Visiting Room Officer - The heart medication will be stored at the officer’s desk in the Visiting Room during your visit, so bring it to the officer’s attention when you arrive.

Infant Items and Arrival Tips

  • For an infant/toddler, bring only these items, stored in a clear bag or plastic container: diapers and wipes, a blanket, up to two filled clear bottles or sealed baby food containers, a change of clothes, a bib, a pacifier, a plastic spoon, one clear empty cup with a lid, a coat/hat, and gloves
  • For adults, bring two forms of identification (one must be a current state-issued photo ID) and be ready to provide vehicle information
  • Plan to store extra personal items in the free small lockers while you’re visiting

Reminder: Leave prohibited items at home or secure them before you arrive. Don't try to bring them into the Visiting Room.
