Staff open personal mail and inspect it for contraband. They remove any contraband before giving the mail to the recipient.

Magazines containing profanity, weapons, pornography or other adult content are confiscated by jail staff and are not delivered to the recipient.

Do not choose a hardcover book. The jail does not accept hardcovers because they could be used as weapons.

Books must not contain images or content considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Books that fail Todd County Detention Center’s standards are disposed of.
