How to arrange your first visit to Whiteville Correctional Facility
Learn how to apply for visitor approval, book your first Whiteville visit, and prepare for TDOC clothing, belongings and security rules.
You need visitor approval before you can visit Whiteville Correctional Facility, and approval does not replace the required appointment. Complete the TDOC visitation application using the appropriate adult or minor submission guide, then submit it to the institution where the person you want to visit is assigned. Every visitor needs approval, regardless of age. Applications should be approved or denied within 30 days of receipt. The incarcerated person receives the decision and must tell you the outcome. Once approved, call 731-254-9400, extension 40821, Saturday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., to arrange your appointment. Those hours are for booking contact, not visits. TDOC requires appropriate clothing and footwear for visitors of every age, and facility staff may further define the requirements. Every visitor must pass through multiple security screenings, including a body scanner. Before you travel, confirm your appointment and local visit requirements with Whiteville staff.

Under TDOC’s process, applications should be approved or denied within 30 days of receipt. The person you want to visit receives the decision and is responsible for telling you whether you were approved or denied. You cannot be admitted until your application is approved.
