Scheduling a Visit at Will County ADF: Call Times, Booking Window, Arrival Rules, and What to Expect
Visiting someone at the Will County Adult Detention Facility gets a lot easier once you know the phone number, the booking window, and what to expect when you arrive. Here's how scheduling works at the Will County Video Visitation Center, plus key rules that could affect whether you get in.
To schedule a video visit, call the Will County Video Visitation Center at 815-774-7950. All visits are booked by phone, so calling during posted hours is the only way to get on the schedule.
You can call to schedule from 9:15 am to 12:00 pm and again from 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm. Outside those windows, you'll have a harder time reaching someone who can book your visit.
Tip: Appointments fill up first-come, first-served. If you want a specific day or time, call as early as possible during scheduling hours.
Will County doesn't let you book more than 48 hours in advance. Planning ahead matters, but there's a firm limit on how far out you can schedule.
Under the standard schedule, most inmates can have two 30-minute visits per week. Keep that limit in mind when picking times that work for you and your loved one.
Note: The facility posted temporary guidelines (effective June 17, 2020) that limited visits to 1 per week (until Phase 4) and capped visitors at 2 per visit (until Phase 5). Since those limits were phase-based, confirm what rules apply when you call to schedule.
- ✓ Ask whether visits are currently following the usual schedule of two 30-minute visits per week.
- ✓ Ask whether any temporary limits are being enforced (for example, 1 visit per week).
- ✓ Confirm the current maximum number of visitors allowed per visit before you finalize your appointment.
Arrive at the Video Visitation Center at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time. That buffer gives you time to check in and get set up so you don't miss your appointment.
The Will County Video Visitation Center is at 20 South Chicago Street, Joliet, IL 60436. The phone number (also the scheduling line) is 815-774-7950.
When you arrive, you'll check in and be seated in front of a visitation screen. Your loved one appears on a connected screen at the detention facility, so you can see each other during the visit.
You must be at least 17 years old to visit, unless a parent or legal guardian accompanies you. Bringing someone under 17? Make sure an adult will be present for the entire visit.
If you've been incarcerated at the Will County Adult Detention Facility within the last 30 days, you won't be allowed to visit. Wait until that window passes before trying to schedule.
Inmates can't receive visits until after their first court appearance. If your loved one was just booked, that's likely why you're being told a visit can't be scheduled yet.
Note: Health requirements can change without notice. Call ahead to confirm current entry expectations before your visit.
At the Video Visitation Center, you'll sit in front of a screen connected to one inside the detention facility. You'll see your loved one and talk through a telephone during the visit. Questions before you go? Call 815-774-7950.
