How to Contact a Detainee at IAH Polk Adult Detention Facility
Choose the correct route for routine detainee information, an urgent message or a non-confidential tablet message. Detainees cannot receive incoming calls, so urgent messages must go through the facility’s dedicated message line.
For routine information about a person housed at IAH Polk Adult Detention Facility, call (936) 967-1700 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Have the person’s identifying information ready when you call.

- Have the person’s date of birth and country of birth ready

To leave an urgent message for a detainee, call the facility’s separate urgent-message number at (936) 967-8000. You must provide information identifying both the detainee and you as the caller.
Detainees cannot receive incoming calls. The facility will give your urgent message to the detainee instead.

- Give your name and a telephone number where you can be reached
- Leave the urgent message for the facility to give to the detainee
