How to Send a Personal Letter to Someone at Natrona County Detention Center
Personal letters for someone at Natrona County Detention Center go to a processing PO box in Longview, Texas, where they are scanned and delivered electronically. They do not go to the jail's physical address in Casper. The steps below cover how to prepare and address a plain letter.
Keep your letter within 8.5 inches wide by 11 inches tall and no more than five pages. Write only on the fronts of the pages, because the scanning system scans fronts only. Mail with writing on the backs will be returned to the sender, and letters over five pages will not be scanned or delivered.
Your letter must not contain coded or gang-related correspondence, sexually explicit material, or material that threatens facility security, order or discipline. It also cannot include correspondence for another inmate whose name is not on the envelope. Before you seal the letter, check that it has none of the prohibited additions below.
- ✓ No stickers, inkpad stamps, whiteout, staples or tape in or on the letter.
- ✓ No felt markers, gel pens or glitter pens used on the letter or envelope.
- ✓ No lipstick, perfume, cologne or bodily fluids.
- ✓ No postage stamps, blank paper, blank envelopes, self-addressed stamped envelopes, blank greeting cards or blank postcards.
- ✓ No phone cards.
- ✓ No personal, payroll or two-party checks.
Mail received for an inmate who has been issued a No Contact Order will be returned to the sender with an explanation.
